Salt industry🌊🌊🍚

Salt is a mineral mainly composed of sodium chloride.
Animals need salt in small amounts to survive, but ingesting too much can have dangerous consequences. One of the basic flavors, salt is used as a food flavoring throughout the world. Salting is one method of food preservation. Salt used for human consumption exists in several forms: impure salt (eg, sea salt), pure salt (table salt), and iodized salt. Common salt crystals obtained from seawater or rock deposits are white, light pink, or light gray in color. Edible salt appears gray in color due to its mineral.

Many Asian cultures use salt as a spice to flavor food. In many countries of the world, salt is used to increase the taste of food in the production of various types of food, and to reduce iodine deficiency

In terms of global salt production in 2002, the United States of America was at the top. In addition to this, China, Germany, India and Canada are also the top countries in global salt production.[54] By 2007, China had emerged as the world's largest salt producer.
In 1938, the Ceylon Salt Department was established. This later became the National Salt Corporation in 1958. Later in 1977 it became the Ceylon Salt Company. The fact that Lanka Salt Company has won SLS and ISO 9001 and 22000 locally and internationally is a testament to the success of its products to the world.

Hambantota town is a major producer of salt in Sri Lanka. The salt mountains visible in the city have been the only way to make the lives of about 1500 permanent employees and about 2000 premium employees successful.

Salt is produced entirely by the evaporation of ocean water by the sun and wind. This process is a completely organic project. Therefore Lanka Salt Company is the owner of the largest organic industrial process in Sri Lanka today.
