The coconut tree🌴🌴🌴🌾

The coconut tree, a non-branching plant family, has a fibrous root system that .The coconut tree usually grows to a height of 30 meters and has long leaves. Once the coconut leaves fall, they are easily removed from the trunk. A coconut tree bears its first fruits after 6 to 10 years of planting and it takes 15 to 20 years to reach its maximum yield.

No matter how many trees there are around us, there is hardly any other tree that is related to human life like the coconut tree. Since ancient times, the coconut tree, which has made a huge contribution to meet the various needs of man, has so many benefits, it is also known as 'Kap Ruka'.

Generally, a coconut tree begins to flower four to six years after planting. After pollination of these flowers, coconuts are produced. The coconut tree is a plant that likes sandy soil and it grows very well in areas with salty soil. Therefore, coconut cultivation is more popular in the coastal areas of Lajakaveda. In areas that get good sunlight, the coconut tree needs annual rainfall between 1,500 and 2,500 mm.
A coconut plant also needs high humidity for maximum growth. According to research, the coconut tree needs a warm environment to grow. That is the reason why coconut trees are not usually seen in regions with cold weather and the coconut trees that are there are not producing enough.

Indonesia is the world's largest producer of coconuts, producing about 15 million metric tons of coconuts per year, and the second largest producer of coconuts in the world is the Philippines. Sri Lanka is also one of the main coconut producing countries and Sri Lanka claims nearly 15% of the world's total coconut production.

Almost all parts of the coconut tree have various uses for man. It is for this reason that the coconut tree is called Kapruka.

It means 'the tree that gives the desired resources'. In addition, it is known as 'tree of a thousand uses' in Malay and 'tree of life' in Filipino.
  • The white coconut milk inside the coconut can be eaten and the liquid inside it called 'coconut water' can be used as a drink.
  • Well-ripened coconut is ground and used as 'Coconut Milk' for preparing various foods.
After cutting the flowers of the coconut tree, the liquid that flows out is used to produce coconut toads, coconut nectar, coconut jaggery and                                                           vinegar.
Thus it appears that the coconut tree is a very important valuable tree
